TVS PRIHATIN – OUR COMMUNITY CAUSE

As Sarawak’s first TV station, TVS launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) called TVS Prihatin. The cause portrays how the media is close to the people in need and as a platform bridging the community in Sarawak.

In December 2020, TVS Prihatin started its journey in support of seven associations; Hope Place Kuching, Kuching Autistic Association, Dyslexia Association of Sarawak, Wishesland, Society of Kuching Urban Poor under KECHARA Food Kitchen, Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) & Save Our Strays (SOS). 

Since its inception in December 2020, TVS Prihatin has undertaken numerous impactful initiatives such as CSR Fire Victims of Kampung Bintawa Ulu, Kuching and TVS Prihatin in the Holiday Season.

The next year, in 2021, TVS conducted a Christmas Charity with AirAsia Grocer and Zer0Hunger to support Hope Place and SKUP in their efforts to alleviate hunger and aid those in need during the holiday season.

Throughout 2022, TVS Prihatin collaborated with KCGCCI for a CNY Charity Handover benefiting Sarawak Society of the Blind, Cheshire Home, Pertubuhan PDK Suria, Salvation Army Boys Home, and Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng, partnered with Jabatan Kebajikan Sarawak and Mahsuri Foods Sejambak Kasih Aidilfitri in Kuching, Serian, and Samarahan. TVS Prihatin also joined hands with Citadines Kuching for a charity event benefiting PDK Senandung Kasih in May 2022. Furthermore, TVS Prihatin collaborated with Kuching Rotary Club and Regas Auto for a Raya Qurban CSR event in Kampung Haji Baki, partnered with Bank Rakyat for the Program Ibadah Qurban Wilayah Sarawak 2022 and TVS Prihatin joined efforts with Sukujuru Gilam Serian in September of 2022.

Last year, in 2023, TVS Prihatin collaborated with Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Sarawak for Majlis Simbolik Pembungkusan Raya 2023 and had celebrated its 3rd Anniversary in Gedong, Simunjan on November 11, 2023 with the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg which marks a significant milestone for TVS Prihatin as the largest CSR program to date by distributing MYTV set up boxes to the rural area community of Gedong, Simunjan.

In 2024, TVS Prihatin collaborated in KCGCCI CNY CSR program in January, coinciding with Chinese New Year, followed by the Majlis Pembungkusan Sumbangsih Raya 2024 on March 18th, held during the fasting season. Continuing the festive spirit, the Majlis Iftar Perdana UiTM Cawangan Sarawak has occurred on March 26, 2024, with the presence of the Premier of Sarawak. The latest event, hosted by Persatuan Huffaz Malaysia at Riverside Majestic, together with Tuan Yang Terutama Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, featured a donation handover from Lembaga Tabung Haji on March 29, 2024. Looking ahead, TVS Prihatin plans to conduct another round of CSR in Gedong, Simunjan district, with the Ramadan Iftar Ceremony alongside the Premier of Sarawak scheduled for April 6, 2024.

All in all, TVS Prihatin has effectively executed sixteen (16) CSR events with the aim to extend assistance to individuals in need. TVS Prihatin hoped that these efforts will continue to positively impact and support other communities in the future.
