MIRI, April 17: The body of a 57-year-old man, identified as Lah Wan, was discovered floating in a lake near Lakeshore in Senadin this morning, raising suspicions of homicide.

The grim discovery was made by a member of the public collecting rubbish in the area around 9.45 am, who promptly alerted the authorities.

Emergency services, including firefighters from Lutong fire station, led by Chief PBT II Henry Jugah, were swiftly dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, eight firefighters assisted in retrieving the victim’s body from the lake.

The operation, initiated after a notification from the police at 10.23 am, concluded at 11.38 am.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident.

Preliminary findings suggest signs indicative of potential homicide rather than a natural death.-TVS
