KUCHING, May 8: In light of Sarawak’s current achievements, Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg urged more people to dabble in the field of technology.
Abang Johari said Sarawak’s technical success, particularly in the green energy field, will not be achieved without technical knowledge.
“People will respect us if we have the ability to command tech. So read, read a lot of books… become more knowledgeable so that we can dispute and use technology to our advantage.
“God has given us the same brain; it is up to us whether we want to make it sharp or not and as such, we Malay people must aspire higher than foreigners,” he added.
He spoke when officiating the Samarindok Aidilfitri Ceremony organised by the Sarawak Malay Cultural Foundation Charitable Trust (AKYBMS) here on Tuesday.
Abang Johari added Sarawak is currently the world leader in the field of hydrogen energy production and is contributing to the development of the digital economy in line with the current global climate change situation.-TVS
